About Coral

Coral began life in 1926 when Joe Coral started operating betting pitches at greyhound tracks. After gambling reforms in 1960 he opened his first high street betting shop and over the next 20 years the company grew into one of the UK's largest leisure groups. The following decades witnessed several mergers and acquisitions of Coral until, most recently, it merged with the Gala Group in 2005. The Gala Coral Group is currently the only betting company in the country with sizable interest in the online and high street bookmaking, bingo and casino markets.
